Phil was born and brought up in Burlington, Vt. His stay- at- home Mom and business owning/golf loving Dad provided a wonderful childhood for Phil and his sister.
Phil has always loved radio and while in College took a broadcasting/announcing course at a local radio station. After college and a government paid stint at Fort Knox, Phil got a full time job in sales and announcing at a Burlington station. He was married to Joan in 1967, and they moved to Brooksville,Fl. in 1970 where Phil and his then boss bought a station. As President and General Manager, Phil also did an hour of talk and set the small southern town on it's ear! They grew to love him and when their daughter was born in 1972, she was invited to participate in every grand opening, parade and fair!
Phil and his Vermont partner added an Ocala, Fl. station in 1974. Jason was born in 1975 and on his second birthday party, Phil pulled Joan aside and told her they were moving to Daytona Beach, the newest station acquisition. They spent five wonderful years in Ormond Beach, sold Brooksville in 1978, Ocala in 1979 and Daytona in 1982.
Always ready for change, the four Knights moved to Casper, Wy. where Phil was General Manager of the CBS TV station. When the kids' high school years approached, they moved to Vermont and for the next fifteen years at different times Phil ran radio groups in Vt. and NH and the ABC TV station in Burlington.
Kids graduated and married and Joan wanting to develop an educational consulting business, New Bern called to them!

Washington State...let's get them back east!!
Phil is having as much (or more) fun doing his TV/Radio Show on CTV10 as he had in the early Florida years! Thanks to YOU, and he hopes to continue for quite a while.
